Introducing: #iMProject16

With the start of a new year, comes brand new projects, and there’s nothing more exciting than a project car.

Our newest member of the family, the Scion iM, is the perfect canvas to create an auto show masterpiece. With your help and assistance from Formula Drift Canada’s “Drifter of the Year” Pat Cyr, we’ll work together to get this 2016 Scion iM ready for the Canadian International Auto Show. Introducing: #iMProject16.

If you’ve visited us at the auto show, or attended one of our events, then you know we love a customized Scion. From Pat Cyr’s winning FR-S to the rare Rocket Bunny tC, we hope our cars inspire you to put your own personal touch to your Scion, whether it’s a simple accessory or turning it into a full blown race car.

For #iMProject16, we’re going to start with a few simple modifications. The Scion iM is a great platform for us to work with. It’s versatile, well-priced, and comes loaded with features like an aggressive lip kit and LED running lights.

We’ve partnered with some of the world’s leading after-market manufacturers such as GReddy, Rays Racing and RS*R to source parts for #iMProject16. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to let us know what you would do with your Scion iM, and cast your vote to help us make decisions on things like wheels, suspension and livery. We hope you’re as excited as we are and we can’t wait to hear from you. Stay tuned!

Musician Andrew Huang Finds Harmony with the iM

The 2016 Scion iM is well-equipped to help you find the perfect, well, anything. This search drives our new series of collaborations with online personalities known for their different passions and creativity.

For our first installment, we figured there was nothing more appropriate to discover than the perfect road trip song. So, we connected with Toronto-‐based YouTube music sensation Andrew Huang, knowing he’d find inspiration – and instrumentation – in our new hatchback. You might’ve seen him making music out of dental equipment or playing “99 Red Balloons” using only red balloons as instruments. So where was he going to take us this time?

We let Andrew loose on the iM and, before we knew it, he’d found his groove. His music video, “Run Away With Me,” shows how taking just one turn – using your turn signal, of course – will take you unexpected places, something Andrew’s made a entertaining habit out of.

Filmed at Underpass Park in Toronto, we got our crew together with Andrew (and Andrew and Andrew and…wait, what?) as he turned the iM into his very own “one-‐man” band. The image of 4 Andrews performing in harmony inside the iM – plus another Andrew showing up in the backup camera on drums – fits perfectly with what the well-‐equipped hatchback is all about: giving you everything you need to engage in your passion, all in one package.

To paraphrase Andrew – uh, Andrews – “Plan to go west ‘til you can’t go farther.” Sounds like a good idea to us. When you’ve got the iM, and the perfect road trip song, the experience will definitely be something worth sharing. #ScioniM #iMAlwaysReady
